A few words on the Datacenters by which ASAP servers are hosted.
“Intergenia”
Intergenia’s new ultramodern Datacenter, Datadock, is located in Strasbourg, France, and is the most environmentally friendly datacenter in Europe. It began operating in the summer of 2010, after 3 years of programming and construction costing over $17 million. It has already won 2 awards, the Eco Internet Award 2010 (German Association of Internet Business) in the datacenters category and the 5* Quality Certificate, Datacenter Star Audit (DSCA), for reliability, security and power efficiency of its infrastructure.
The reliability of the “Intergenia” Data Center is ensured by the following:
- 24/7 monitoring of facilities by security personnel and cameras. An ultramodern system for access to the installations had been established and ensures that only authorized individuals can come into contact with the equipment.
- 2 different and independent supply circuits are connected to each server (rack). Furthermore, each rack is supported by 2x16 Ampere.
- N+1 or 2N+1 architecture of auxiliary generators. Latest technology, low emission petroleum generators by MTU, ensure smooth operation of servers in the event of a power failure. Two petroleum tanks with a total capacity of 2600 liters can easily supply the generators and can be refueled while working.
- Green refrigeration system. The system utilizes the low temperature of groundwater flows in the area (12°) for maintaining the installation’s temperature through an eco-friendly system which achieves the greatest efficiency in Europe. 1.21 PUE (Power Usage Efficiency).
- Auxiliary Green Power UPSs which have the ability to support both the installation and the equipment in whole until the building’s generators are automatically activated. (96% efficiency)
- Advanced fire-fighting and source detection systems may detect smoke caused even by a melted cable, thus avoiding any risk of fire.
- Regular, preventive maintenance work is carried out by specialized personnel to a point meeting or even surpassing the maintenance schedule recommended by manufacturers.
“Hetzner”
Hetzner’s Datacenter is located in Nurnberg and provides 6.500m2 of facilities designed to efficiently and immediately deal with any problem. This constitutes the first part of a larger plan that a DataCenter Park with the potential for development of 100.000 m2 of facilities.
The reliability of the “Hetzner” Data Center is ensured by the following:
- 24/7 monitoring of facilities to ensure safety of the servers. Entry to the premises is permitted only by special written consent. During your visit to the Datacenter you are accompanied by company personnel at all times. All areas are monitored by video camera. All doors are controlled by a central electronic system.
- Auxiliary generators.
- N+2 HVAC Datacenter Systems.
- Auxiliary UPSs able to support the 6500m2 facilities as well as the equipment for a period of over 15minutes.
- Advanced fire fighting systems based on electronic detectors.
- 100% Green Electricity – The Datacenter is supplied only by renewable energy sources (hydroelectric plants, wind generators, photovoltaic parks), the equipment in whole, including servers, is certified to be able to increase and reduce its consumption depending on the required output power. NatureEnergie has issued a certificate for zero emission of pollutants (0%CO2) during operation of the Datacenter.
